With immense honor and pleasure, we invite you all to the Conference of the Peritoneal Dialysis Society of India (PDSI), PDSICON 2024, which will be held on October 5th and 6th, 2024, at Guwahati.

This two-day annual conference is an academic feast and a unique opportunity for professional growth. It will feature interactive sessions, the latest developments, workshops, free paper and poster presentations, debates, and panel discussions led by eminent national and international faculties in the field of peritoneal Dialysis.

The conference will provide a platform for our members and fellow physicians to interact and exchange views and experiences, as well as a unique environment for connecting with the leaders in the field of peritoneal Dialysis from across India.

You can soak yourself in spiritually at ancient shrines like Kamakhya temple on a hilltop, Umananda temple on Peacock Island in the river, and the 18th-century Navagraha Temple, an astronomical center with planetary shrines. You can also adventure through the famous one-horned rhinoceros in Assam.

The gateway of norteast

Guwahati is a fast growing metropolitan city that is by far the most important city in the state of Assam. Today it is known as the largest commercial, educational and industrial center of the entire northeastern region in India. Guwahati can be visited for reasons more than one. The fabled land of tea plantations and nature tourism has many other gems up its sleeve to lure visitors. The gateway to seven sisters (seven states of northeast India) is indeed a land that hides a few mysteries under its veil.

Important economic activities of the place include transportation, commerce, trade, education, tourism, real estate, cultural activities, recreation, research, and services.

The city is located in the country’s northeastern state of Assam and lies idly on the banks of the mighty Brahmaputra River at the foothills of the Shillong Plateau.
Guwahati is the capital city of Assam. The city lies in the northeastern side of Assam and located at an altitude of 55 meters above sea level, It is also a major cultural hub and a center for sports in the northeastern region. Guwahati is also an important transaction junction in the entire region.

CONNECTIVITY

Guwahati offers a number of travel options for local as well as foreign visitors. One can enjoy convenient and high quality air, train and road services for travelling across India from here.

By Air: The commercial city of Guwahati is well connected with the rest of India by air and land. The Lokapriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport is situated at Borjar, 20 km away from the city. The city is connected with all major cities of India by different airlines.

By Train: Guwahati Junction is the major railway station of Guwahati. Kamakhya Junction is the second largest station of the city. Guwahati is well connected with all the major cities of the country through rails. From the railways station, you can hire a cab/taxi or board a local bus to get to the city centre or to your hotel.

By Road: Guwahati is connected to the states of Bihar, Jharkhand and West Bengal through National Highway 31 while National Highway 37 connects Guwahati with almost all the major cities of Assam. The Inter State Bus Terminus (ISBT) located at the outskirts, provides connectivity with other regions of the Northeast with regular buses for major cities and tourist destinations of neighbouring states.
